Michelangelo Buonarroti's 'Madonna and Child' in the O.L.V.-kerk Museum is the most visited work of art in Bruges. Thanks to a new tactile station in the museum, (visually impaired) visitors can touch a 3D printed version of the statue, feel the cold Carrara marble from which it was hewn and discover the altar in which the sculpture is displayed. This realisation is part of the efforts made by Musea Brugge in the area of accessibility for visually impaired and blind visitors. A great deal of effort has also been invested in this area during the refurbishment of the Gruuthusemuseum.
