As a volunteer, you can assist with the daily running of Musea Brugge in various ways. You help us actively with our projects and thereby become an important link between the museum and the public. Behind the scenes you familiarise yourself with our rich collections or you help to inform and welcome our visitors. Would you like to be part of our team of volunteers? You can read below what your tasks could be. All assistance is in Dutch.
Volunteer with the Friends of the Musea Brugge
As a volunteer of the Friends of the Musea Brugge, amongst other things, you welcome visitors in the Groeningemuseum (Groeninge Museum), to exhibitions, lectures, or other events. Or you work as a logistical assistant with Memorabel (museum visits for persons with dementia) or as a supervisor at the young people’s workshops.

MAGIS volunteer
Marcus Gerards drew a map of Bruges in 1562. This unique and particularly detailed document has now been digitalised on www.kaartenhuisbrugge.be/magis. Volunteers work constantly on adding historical information to the digitalised version of the map. Do you also want to help with the entry of new data?
Contact: Geert Souvereyns, geert.souvereyns@brugge.be. We meet every Monday in the museum library.
Volunteer with Erfgoedcel Brugge (Bruges Heritage Cell)
Are you interested in substantive, administrative, organisational, or communicative tasks relating to various projects of Erfgoedcel Brugge?

Volunteer in the Gezellehuis or Volkskundemuseum
The Gezelle volunteers maintain the ecological vegetable garden of the Gezellehuis. The volunteers of the Volkskundemuseum keep the ‘In the Black Cat’ inn open, help with events, or are trained as story gleaners.
