The Tank, Het Entrepot's studio operation, is moving. The artists are exchanging their studios on the Burg for a new location in Bruges. During this transitional period, the artists took up residence in Salon Arents and transformed our salon from a blank canvas into a full studio. During their residency, they pose the question of what happens when an artist has no studio. No studio, no art? Read more about the residency.
On 7 January, the artists present the result of their pop-up studio and their work in Salon Arents during a finissage. In doing so, we also take the opportunity to invite artists Pei-Hsuan Wang and Kristina Sedlerova Villanen for the panel talk 'No Studio, No Art. How to claim space?'. The talk will zoom in on how important a space is for artists. On establishing an artistic practice within a studio space, the importance of experimentation, the importance of residencies and the importance of show moments. Dajo Van den Bussche, one of De Tank's residents, moderates the talk. The talk will be followed by the reception with finissage.
With your ticket you can also join the musical showcase by our youth work Briklyoung in the attic of the Sint-Janshospitaal (2.30pm) on the occasion of the exhibition Face to face with Death.
In collaboration with The Entrepot.
