On 8 April, we open Bench-mark with several performances and book signing sessions. The latest Salon Arents exhibition interweaves works by forgotten artists from our own collection with contemporary work and performances by Gabriela Acha, Christine Clinckx and Gem Heads as well as Brangwyn's permanent collection.
Bench-mark is the last exhibition in Salon Arents and also the last chance to admire the Brangwyn collection in the Arents House. The exhibition highlights works of art that are hardly ever shown in museums and thus enters into a dialogue around various blind spots of a collection.
On the ground floor, you will discover works by Euphrosine Beernaert, Roberte Devooght, Margaret (& Walther) Keane, Christine Clinckx, Alice Frey, Godfried Guffens, Marc Ngandu and Nicolai Roerich: forgotten artists from MB's collection. On the first floor, contemporary artists Gabriela Acha and Christine Clinckx made interventions among 20th-century works by Brangwyn, who was strongly influenced by 'orientalism'.
During the opening on Saturday 8 April, Gabriela Acha, Christine Clinckx and the duo Gem Heads will bring several performances. Expect (invisible) guided tours and book signing sessions by Christine Clinckx and Gem Heads. In the first salon, we will offer you a drink.
