Quiet visiting times

Are you sensitive to stimuli or prefer to avoid crowds? Our museums are often at their quietest during the earliest and latest opening hours. In our online ticket shop, you can check how many tickets are still available for each time slot.

However, please note that this is not a guarantee of a quiet visit. You might still need to wait in line briefly at the entrance.

Sensory kits

Visitors with sensory sensitivities can borrow a free sensory kit at the Museum Sint-Janshospitaal (Museum St. John’s Hospital), the Volkskundemuseum (Folk Museum), and the Gruuthusemuseum. These sensory kits, curated by Toerisme voor Autisme, include various tools to either reduce or provide sensory input, such as: Headphones for children and adults, a tangle toy, fidget toys, a pop-it, smart games, a weighted stuffed animal, a weighted cushion, sunglasses, a comic book and a children’s reading book.

Request a free sensory kit at the museum’s ticket desk. You can choose which tool(s) you’d like to take with you during your visit. After your visit, return the borrowed items to the ticket desk.

Assistance dogs

Registered assistance dogs are welcome at all Musea Brugge locations. Bringing your assistance dog? Please let us know in advance via musea.reservatie@brugge.be. Please note, however, that household pets are not allowed.
