The reconstruction of the Katelijnestraat has started on 12 August 2019. In a first phase, the utility lines will be renewed. Then the street will be redesigned. The work will last until mid-February 2020 and may cause nuisance in the vicinity of some of our museum locations.
Access to the Sint-Janshospitaal, the Onze-Lieve-Vrouwekerk, the Gruuthusemuseum and the Archeologiemuseum will nevertheless be safeguarded. Pedestrians will always have access. The bus stop at the Onze-Lieve-Vrouwekerk in the Gruuthusestraat remains usable. Motorized traffic, cyclists and buses can be hindered.
In order to limit the inconvenience, the work will be carried out in several phases.
