An order of fries with ... 'Sause'

Thanks to a new collaboration with the Food Archaeologist and chef Pieter Lonneville (Tête Pressée), you can dip your fries in a new sauce this summer: 'Sause', with spices from the kitchen of Charles the Bold and full of character, just like the rebellious people of Bruges from the time of the Flemish primitives. Sause, an ode to the rebellious people of Bruges

Charles the Bold led a life of extreme luxury in the fifteenth century. Excavations in the Bruges Princes' Court have revealed that his chefs used exotic spices such as the extortionate grains of paradise, mustard seed and fresh ginger.

The people of Bruges were not fans of Charles the Bold, who imposed increasingly high taxes to finance his indulgent lifestyle and expensive wars. The people did not let themselves be done and frequently rose up against the duke. With this new fry sauce, we offer an ode to the rebellious people of Bruges and bring the duke's spices to the population at large.

'Sause' is a rebellious fry sauce, with a sweet and sour flavour and full of spice just like the residents of Bruges, with a hint of ginger and grains of paradise from the duke's kitchen.

The new fry sauce 'Sause' is available in all participating fries shops and in Atelier Tête Pressée (Koningin Astridlaan 100, 8200 Sint-Michiels) all summer
