A barge master, Jean, takes his bride, Juliette, on his boat. The woman is soon bored, but feels threatened by the strange behaviour of Jean's crewman. When the young couple reach Paris, Juliette falls for the charms of another man. But the young crewman manages to bring her back to Jean.
