Evelien de Wilde obtained a Bachelor's degree in Art History from Utrecht University in 2008. She continued her studies there, completing a Master's degree in Visual Arts up to 1850 in 2011, followed by a Research Master's degree in Art History also in 2011. During her Research Master's programme, she did an internship at Musea Brugge, assisting with the preparation of the “From Van Eyck to Dürer” exhibition, among other projects. After working at the Stedelijk Museum Alkmaar, the Alkmaar Regional Archives and the Army Museum in Delft, she returned to Bruges to work as a research assistant at the Prentenkabinet. She contributed to the collection presentations 'Virtuoso Mannerism' and 'Impressive', and was co-curator of the international loan exhibition 'Haute Lecture by Colard Mansion'.
She was co-initiator of various subsidy projects for the registration of the collection of works on paper and supervises the subsidy project Leerling-Meester (Apprentice-Master) with an important research component focused on the international travel movements of artists in the 18th and 19th centuries.
She is currently working on an exhibition and catalogue about the Jean van Caloen Foundation's drawing collection, which Musea Brugge has managed since 2022. Evelien has a special interest in 16th- and 17th-century printmaking and specialises in iconographic research.
