The museum library in BRON holds an extensive collection of publications which give context to the heritage collection and operations of Musea Brugge. You can access the entire collection in the BRON reading rooms. The tailored library collection includes artist monographs, (art) historical (reference) works, publications by Musea Brugge and collection and exhibition catalogues from around the world, as well as technical research and works on museum science.

  • How do you submit a request?
    • To request library and archival resources, please use the request form.
    • Complete your details and indicate the type of request(s).
    • To request library resources, indicate the title of the publication, year of publication and library number. You can find this information in the museum library catalogue. If you do not have this information, describe what you are looking for as accurately as possible.
    • To request archival resources, please indicate what you are looking for. For object files, always provide the inventory number of the item as well. You can find this on our collection page.
  • Scan service

    Digital document service:

    • BRON makes digital documents available free of charge for personal, educational or scientific use, following a reasoned request via email.
    • Requests are limited to one chapter/article per day, per user. Exceptions are possible with the prior consent of Musea Brugge.
    • Time frame: up to 20 working days.
    • More information on reproductions can be found in the BRON visitor regulations.
    • BRON does not offer IBL services.

    Copy and scan:

    • Researchers and visitors to BRON can scan documents for free
    • Would you like to copy something? Please consider the environmental impact of paper copies. We give preference to digital scans or photographs.
    • Taking pictures of works is permitted, provided that copyright rules are respected.
    • A cradle book scanner is available for delicate works.
