Solar Eclipses, a Sun of our Galaxy with two of its Planets

This is a Flemish Masterpiece

Manufacturer

Georges Vantongerloo (beeldhouwer)

Period and date

20ste eeuw
(1963)

This is the penultimate work Vantongerloo realised. For this, he drew inspiration from astrophysical representations he either took from books or observed himself as a phenomenon with his telescope. Here, the orbits are represented by a spiral of metal wire, creating the cosmological space energetically activated by the objects. Together, they form the sum of void and volume.
