The museum inn ‘In de Zwarte Kat’ is warm and friendly. Our volunteers happily serve you a steaming coffee or local Bruges beer. Don’t be scared if our black cat Aristide comes up to you and purrs. He’s the museum mascot and is named after Aristide Bruant, the Paris ‘Chat Noir’ cabaret singer. Black cats have a special place in folklore. We echo British superstition. Our black cat brings nothing but good luck!
