This Christmas crib tells us more about how the nuns from St John’s Hospital celebrated Christmas. The story goes that the youngest nun held the crib on her lap on Christmas Eve and rocked it gently. Other sources say that the crib was rocked during a religious ceremony. There is a delicate silver image of Jesus on a cushion. The crib stands out from similar models because of its ornately embroidered canopy.
