Alice is a dedicated scientist. She has developed a very special crimson-red rose, with unique properties: not only is it beautiful, but also has therapeutic qualities. If it is kept at the right temperature, well fed and regularly spoken to, the plant makes its owner happy. A carefully stylised thought experiment.
